For the Holiday season, Chico Art Center rents sections of its gallery space to artists to exhibit their works for sale. The artists choose what will be displayed, Jewelry, sculpture, paintings, pottery and artistic craft items. Find wonderful handmade one-of-a-kind gifts, the kind of gifts that are appreciated and treasured for years to come.

Dia De Los Muertos - Day of the Dead Community Art Challenge

Day of the Dead

October 30 – November 13

Reception: November 13, 5:00-7:00pm

Art of the Festival by the same name. This exhibit is open to the North State Community not just seasoned artists, it is a community ART project, an exhibit to have fun with. The reception for this show is on the closing day, and at that time a cash prize will be awarded to the art receiving the most votes from the People's Choice ballots.

This will be a unique experience combining the artistic expression of painters with the creative abilities of floral designers. The artwork for this year’s show will be abstracts, floral arrangements will be designed and matched to chosen works. This is a short show due to the life of the flowers.

We appreciate these fine local Florists for participating and making this the spectacular
experience that it is with 15 incredible arrangements. Many of the shops are presenting arrangement by each of their talented designers.

National All Media Juried Exhibition

The Chico Art Center hosts this annual juried show, providing artists the ability to compete for the chance of winning an Award and a prize. All submitted pieces will be examined by the juror, and the top candidates for the prizes will be exhibited. The juror will announce at the opening reception the three winners. This is a fun opportunity for the serious aartist, and a chance to add “Award-Winner” to a portfolio.

The Works of Robert Benton Race

Robert Benton Race is an artist from the Chico-Paradise area. This exhibition is a mid-career look at his work, showing a diverse assembly of paintings and sculpture that range in style from traditional landscape to contemporary mixed media pieces that confront issues of institutionalized power. This accessible and engaging work should not be missed.

Our 9th annual Contemporary Woman art showcase is open to all women 18 and older, worldwide. This is a juried show, and as such requires an application (available online or at the Art Center). This very important exhibit examines the contributions of women in the art world, and their expression as female artists.

An Exhibit of exceptional student artwork, chosen by the instructors from Chico’s Junior and Senior High School students. This show offers very young artists the opportunity to be in their first show!

In this series we present to the public artists previously having had limited exposure. This show is limited to five individuals, allowing for a representational body of work to be presented. It is open to artists from outside of our geographical area, as well as local artists.

This years featured artists are: Linda Good, Ruth Hall, Ben Saturen,
Elizabeth Shepherd and Lorraine Slattery.

This show is about the artistic eye and the Art of photography, juxtaposed with the multidimensional world of Three Dimensional art forms. This is our 2015 show specifically for our sculptures, potters/ceramics, glass blowing/slumping, and photographic artists.

The Member Showcase is open to all members of the Chico Art Center. Members may submit one work of art for the show. This show has a vast and diverse array of art covering all styles and media. A show that truly has something for everyone's taste.
