“Over the years I have developed several types of armatures that begin most all of my shapes. I have learned how to tear and manipulate paper into smooth contoured shapes used for muscles and form. My art ranges from very small to very large pieces. This art is very durable as well and there are no supplies to buy.”

Kim Finlan
(To the tune of "My Favorite Things" from Sound of Music): "Dishes, and stained glass, and seashells of white; small figurines... chipped so they fit right; buttons and mirror, glass gemstones and jewelry- these are a few of my favorite things!" ** There are SO many things you can make a mosaic with, as well as an infinite number of things you can put a mosaic onto! This is what I love best about mosaic. I am self-taught, but art runs in my blood. My mother is an artist, as was her grandfather. Mosaic is accessible and I am ready to show people who want to learn, just how fun it can be! Check out my Flickr site to see what I've made...so far.
Cheryl Flint
I have been knitting since I first met my husband over thirty years ago. We moved to Northern California in 1980 and have lived in Greenville ever since. I have been teaching knitting since 1984.
I spin my own yarn and weave. I have been dying yarn from all over the world and sell hand-dyed yarn and hand-knit garments at B & B Bookseller, A Room Full of Yarn at Country Style in Greenville and Bella's Beads in Chico and at art fairs around the three counties in my area.
My husband and I have raised four children here in beautiful Indian Valley, I thank God for my passion for fiber arts. It is an on-going love affair.
Russ Flint
The human figure and movement are my passion both as expressed in painting and drawing with a penchant for color. As an eleven-year-old I was allowed to take an adult drawing class at Pasadena City College and later, at the ages of sixteen and seventeen, won two successive scholarships to attend a figure drawing class at Art Center College of Design. I returned to Art Center, after military service, and studied for three years under Lorsor Feitelson, and Harry Carmean.
Nature does not excite me, which explains why I lean toward Mannerism. I go to the great master draftsmen and painters of the past to provide the inspiration for what I paint. Working from memory, without models allows my mind to edit out what I don't need in a work .
At present, I live in Plumas County with my wife, a weaver, knitter and dye-pot fiber artist. We regularly exhibit, and I invest my time painting and teaching. You can view my art at www.russflint.com.
Christine MacShane
Christine MacShane-Henry: I guess my strongest influences are the colorists, the impressionists and the figures of Degas. I love to paint fast, to allow whatever is there to show itself. I do, contrarily, like to go piece–by-piece on some paintings if it is something I am discovering new things through.
Waif Mullins, PSA,PSWC-DP
My work is always based on observation of light, how it reveals form, affects local color, and changes as time passes (when working outdoors from life). Whether working directly from life or photographic references I always seek to represent my subject at a specific time and location relative to the source of the light, which is most often the sun. My methods draw extensively on the prismatic approach of the impressionist, as regards color usage, exploiting complimentary color relationships and interpreting effects of light as color, while focusing more attention on draftsmanship.
